Make an educated decision when purchasing an auto warranty. There are numerous auto warranties to choose from. Making thedecision to purchase the right warranty can be difficult.Finding the right type and term of coverage require firstdeterring how long you intend on keeping the vehicle. Be sureyou know what you are purchasing such as what is covered in thewarranty contract.

Make sure the company is the insurer and not a re-insurer. Stateand federal government regulates the insurer, having to followstrict guidelines and maintain a reserve account for futureclaims. Rules for re-insurers are not as strict and are notrequired to meet the same requirements. Re-insurer is notnecessarily a bad option just learn more about them before youbuy.

Find out if coverage includes full parts and labor, some plansinclude only partial and others only cover used partsreplacement. Make sure that new or rebuilt OEM parts are usedand that the parts and labor are covered.

Its always good to get a second opinion if your not sure aboutwhat you might need or something that's in the contract your notsure about. Check with the repair facility and see who theyrecommend, since they usually know who's coverage is superiorfor your type of vehicle. Also keep in mind that cheaper is notalways better.

Find out the condition of your vehicle by having an inspection, this can give you an idea of the potential future problems youmay have and could also be required by the auto warrantyprovider.

Use common sense and do your research on the auto warrantycompany you may be doing business with.
